because it’s obvious I won’t keep it up. 🙂
It’s been a whirlwind around here. We closed on our new house on 8/30 and we are loving PA. No offense to MA, we loved it there too. We are just so blessed to deal with great people on both ends of our move. We are still settling in around boxes and piles of stuff we just don’t know what to do with! I truly can’t stop counting our blessings these days.
The kids are adjusting well and we have had lots of visitors to keep us busy. We can’t wait for more as the holidays approach. 🙂
D has been saying all kinds of adorable things lately like “help you” (instead of help me), and he very clearly (and usually loudly!) requests the songs he likes in the car “Beats Bananas Pease?” (Of course you don’t want to be around when the song is over! We are working on being okay when Mommy and Daddy say “No!”…that’s for both our kids actually!)
C really loves to color and is getting more and more coordinated and dexterous which is good to see. She is starting swimming classes again and loves them! (and we are loving how much more inexpensive they are here!)
My kids are adorable, have i mentioned that yet?
I’m re-learning to use WordPress and I am going to try to get back into actually updating the blog. 🙂 So I am testing out some ways to get pictures on. So this doesnt count as the first post.
Upon dropping a penny…
“I dropped it! Now I can’t celebrate, cause I’m sad…”
“mommy, you sit in your chair. I gets blanket. Now we can snuggle.”
(wearing only Jammie top)
“can you take this off so I can prance?”
(feeding D peas)
Daddy: “you might need more than one pea.”
C: “only one Pea because D is almost one.”
(on the way to see cousins)
“what kind of cousins?”
Pop pop and Grammy don’t have a baby yet. Ill have toget them a baby.
“Daddy is my friend. He lives at work. In florida.”
These are all from the last few months. The last one was tonight (12/11) and I finally am updating my blog, dad!
This story is just too awesome not to share!
Last week in school C made stones out of coffee grounds and sand (and probably some other ingredients). They made them because they had talked about the story of David and Goliath and how David had used Stones in his slingshot. (so glad they made stones and not sling shots!). Anyway, the stones had to dry over the weekend.
Well, the teacher emailed us on Monday saying how the stones smelled positively AWFUL! She didn’t kow what was wrong. So she said to just admire them in their (Sealed!) baggies and then get rid of them.
So I left them out on the counter for C to show Daddy. She does, and then I was going to wait till she went to bed to toss her project out. Of course, I forget to do so as soon as she is in bed. We’re watching TV and B gets up to go get a drink. I’m focused on the show.
He sits back down.
(do you see where this is going yet?)
Next thing I know he’s saying, “WHAT ARE THESE? UGH!”
Yep. He was eating rotten coffee ground & sand “cookies”.
We could not stop laughing about it. 🙂
I can’t believe in less than a month my baby will be TWO!! (and that in 5 months there will BE two…)
She’s earned the nickname “chatty c” on our beach trip. She is talking more and more and more. Including telling me that she wants a diaper change. I’m hoping potty training is in the VERY near future!!
She has a steel trap memory… She really remembers so many random things… Like the location of “tunnels” (Aka overpasses). Tunnels and bridges are her current obsession. It’s cute, except when there hasn’t been one while in awhile…I’m not able to produce them from thin air which she finds very disappointing!
I’m sure there are many many more adorable things she is doing that im not able to conjure up right now!
I’ll add captions to these pictures later- I’m posting from my phone at the moment!
Stylin' Priority Mail Hat
Artiste at work
"Cheese" (at the Aquarium)
The Sharks (and Otters) were her favorites!
I knew I’d remember eventually!
The other thing she’s been doing is actually pretty clever-I’m not yet sure if she does it on purpose, but she spits out food and declares it too hot- but she does it even with stone cold food! I guess I should just thank my lucky stars that she tries food at least half the time!
She also will look at a picture and name the people in it. But she gets a little off when it is a picture of herself. For example,
which, of course, in a way is correct… I mean, that’s what we tell her when she is looking at the picture!! She also calls herself “you” when she looks in a mirror. (probably thanks to to the peek a who book she loves so much!) i know that the referring to self as “you” is very common in little ones, but i think it’s even more adorable with my kid doing it now:) just today though, I got her to try and say her name. If I point to myself she says mama, and if I point to her she will say something resembling her name. Yay! (but she still won’t say her name to the mirror or pictures. baby steps i guess!)
We’ve been practicing animal noises. Nan’s favorite was “doodle doo” instead of “cockadoodledoo!” And C remembers that that was Nan’s favorite- she keeps saying “doodle do” when she “talks” on the phone with Nan. 🙂
Here’s a video of *almost* all her sounds! Sorry I’m so much louder than she is 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MpjdMFuFK0
She really is amazing me daily. I cant believe how big my girl is!
We are buried under even more snow today, and so my “So silly” (as she declares herself all the time now) girl and I have already been out to play! She can’t quite walk in the 20000 feet of snow, so we had to stick to where the plow had been:)

Yeah, so rememember how I said her favorite words were “see” and “yights”?
I was wrong.
Her favorite word is “no” or “no-no”.
all.day.long yesterday! It’s pretty cute, really, because she does the sign for “no” when she says it and the tone of voice is very sweet (for now!). But it’s also tiring when it’s a day full of testing mommy! Definitely working on discipline and obedience area right now!
